Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that challenges traditional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the authorized release, "An unusual encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of forbidden practices and terrifying transformations echo through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret cult.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Extra Content
Players who finish the quest will acquire an special katana in addition to several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
