Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets The Beloved Duo Versus a Digital Device
Exactly 30 anniversary since the original Toy Story film was released, establishing the animation giant as a major film company and introducing audiences to beloved figures like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, providing a glimpse into the plot but keeping viewers wondering how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Gang
In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who inherited the toy collection when he grew up — receiving a brand new toy, one that alarms the familiar toy group. She gets her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.
Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the characters seem to view it as a threat coming to replace them, which it likely will.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer avoids is what the sheriff is returned with his friends in the child's bedroom. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), traveling with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, the filmmakers will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is a little strange, though. It also raises questions whether his partner will have returned with Woody. And what about Duke Caboom (the star)?
Continuity from the Last Installment
At the very least, some aspects are carrying over from the prior film. The final act the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was hand over his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), leaving her in charge of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser shows the badge attached to her shirt.
It is hoped she is still the key figure among the toys.
Toy Story 5 debuts on the scheduled date.
